Sound-Movement-Meditation mit Flying Carpet & Mwaah (Live)

The Sound Movement Meditation event was created by the Hamburg (yoga) label Flying Carpet and has been taking place at various locations in and outside Hamburg since 2022. This event combines musical elements through collaboration with musicians and DJs, yoga and movement meditations to create a special experience and a rhythm of letting go.

On December 12, Flying Carpet will take place in the heart of Altona in an old city villa (for more information see below: Venue). The women's DJ duo Mwaah will take the participants on a musical journey and guide them through the movement meditation with electronic sounds.

The meditation begins with a (yoga) warm-up that gently prepares the body for the following practice. This is followed by a dynamic part in which the focus is on active elements such as gentle movements, dance, shaking and breathing exercises.
This is followed by a phase of silent, classical meditation, which is performed while sitting or lying down.

This movement meditation is based on Osho's Dynamic Meditation (Flying Carpet distances itself from Osho as a person) and may make you sweat. Alternative movements are offered in phases, which are calmer and less strenuous.

Participants will need a yoga mat or blanket. Comfortable clothing and water are beneficial. Tea is provided free of charge. No other equipment is required.

About Mwaah:

In their duo Mwaah Annika and Anna combine live vocals and live performance with DJ sets of slow tech, dark disco, slow trance, indie dance and downtempo at 100-118 bpm. They usually integrate a thematic motif into their sets, which can be experienced in improvised vocals and performances with hand puppets and energy dance. Together with Flying Carpet, they performed at the Meeresrausch Festival 2024 and supported the sound movement meditation with bouncy beats, live noises and energy dance for the first time.

"TBD - to be defined - is a temporary cultural project in the heart of Altona, which is housed in a 4-storey old villa. TBD is a platform for culture, art and activities and offers over 350 square meters of space for exchange and discovery. Like the name, so is the program: to be defined! The program develops from the people on site!"
