Sparkasse Holstein Familien-Renntag

On Sunday, June 29, the IDEE Derby Meeting will open in Hamburg-Horn. The program includes ten races and a colourful setting with the Sparkasse Holstein Family Race Day. This includes lots of fun, activities and a very special competition, especially for the youngest visitors.

Together with Sparkasse Holstein, the Hamburger Renn-Club e.V. is once again organizing the children's hat competition, in which girls and boys can take part. What is needed is creativity and fun "tinkering". In previous years, this competition has already brought to light the greatest and funniest ideas, leaving the jury members spoiled for choice: Hats with cuddly toys and pompoms on them, decorated with lots of stickers, even horse figures or flowers - homemade or sewn and decorated, or even purchased children's hats that have been lavishly embellished by hand. There are no limits to the wealth of ideas.

The indoor children's area will be open all race day with play stations, bouncy castles and face painting. There will also be a mini trotter race on the track.

As always, the absolute highlight is the IDEE 156th German Derby, which will be run on Sunday, July 6, on the traditional racecourse and is endowed with prize money of 650,000 euros. On this day, the successor to "Palladium'', who won the Derby last year and brought a premiere for jockey Thore Hammer-Hansen, will be sought. The focus of the IDEE Derby meeting is on the sport with up to 12 races per day, but Horn's legendary track is also an attractive meeting place for families and horse fans from all over the world.
