Stadtklang der Bach-Zeit. Ein Leipziger Klangspaziergang

In the organizer's words:

On a walk through the city center, we will explore the soundscape of Leipzig in Bach's time: it was shaped by the bells and the tower keepers, but also by the city musicians who played twice a day from the balcony of the town hall and the traveling musicians who played music in the streets and squares.

Dr. Markus Zepf from the Leipzig Bach Archive, Dr. Veit Heller from the Musical Instrument Museum at Leipzig University and St. Thomas organist Prof. Johannes Lang will draw participants' attention to this world of sound. In addition, musicians under the direction of Julia Nagel will play some pieces by the Leipzig Stadtpfeifer.
Cost: €6 and €2.00 entrance fee for participation in the tower tour
