Remscheid is taking part again: CITY CYCLING 2025 starts on May 24

The Climate Alliance's CITY CYCLING campaign is entering its next round and Remscheid is taking part! From May 24 to June 13, the aim is to cover as many distances and kilometers as possible by bike.


The aim of CITY CYCLING is to switch to bicycles. Anyone who lives, works, attends school or belongs to a club in Remscheid can take part. Together in teams or on your own, you can collect kilometers - for the climate, our health and the promotion of our quality of life. Everyday journeys to work, school, sport or the city center as well as leisure and vacation trips all count. Together, we are contributing to climate-friendly mobility and doing something good for ourselves and our society. Last year, around 800 people registered in 58 teams for Remscheid and together covered a distance of 173,000 km. This is comparable to cycling four times around the world.
Joint campaign in the Bergisch city-triangle
In 2024, the cities of Remscheid, Solingen and Wuppertal started the CITY CYCLING campaign together for the first time, which will be repeated this year. While around 911,000 km were cycled together last year, the goal for this year has been set: 1,000,000 km in the Bergisch city-triangle! In cooperation with the municipalities in the Bergisch city-triangle, the kick-off event will take place on May 24 at the Müngsten Bridge.

Schools can take part in the school cycling campaign again this year. Prizes will be awarded to the most active school classes.
