STADTRADELN Bremen 2025

Bremen remains a cycling city: from August 18 to September 7, 2025, the Hanseatic city is inviting all cyclists to take part in the nationwide CITY CYCLING event. Together with the ADFC Bremen and the cycling culture project BIKE IT!, people will once again be pedaling hard - for more climate protection, a sustainable city and the good feeling of being part of a strong community. Bremen CITY CYCLING was already a complete success in 2024: 280 teams cycled over 662,000 kilometers together, saving 109 tons of CO₂.

Anyone who lives, works, goes to school or studies in Bremen can take part - whether everyday cyclists, occasional cyclists or commuters. Companies, clubs, school classes, administrative teams and political representatives are also expressly invited. The aim is to cycle as many distances as possible in a climate-friendly way within three weeks - every kilometer counts.

Taking part is easy: after registering at www.stadtradeln.de/bremen, you can set up your own team or join an existing one. Those who prefer to cycle solo can join the "Open Team - Bremen". The kilometers cycled are tracked via app or entered online - this is also possible up to seven days after the end of the campaign.

CITY CYCLING thrives on a sense of community and sporting ambition in equal measure. Whether for your own club, office team, school or simply for yourself: Collecting cycling kilometers together is motivating - and sometimes a look at the ranking also spurs you on. Those looking for a special kick can collect additional kilometers and compete in the big GFNY race in Bremen on 31 August.

The festive finale on September 6 and 7 is the "BIKE IT! Festival - overseas by bike". For two days, everything will revolve around sustainable mobility, urban development and cycling culture on the Überseeinsel. Exhibitions, discussions and hands-on activities invite visitors to experience the cycling city of Bremen from a new perspective.

In addition to the shared experience, attractive prizes are up for grabs: Lotteries include an overnight stay at Hotel Munte Bremen with breakfast and wellness, an exclusive city tour by Bremen Tourismus and tickets for Universum Bremen for an entire school class. There are also practical and iconic BIKE IT! goodies such as T-shirts, Spokecards and smartphone holders for bikes to be won. The main prizes will not be awarded to those with the best kilometers, but will be lotteries among the most active participants - so that everyone has a fair chance.

Bremen CITY CYCLING is organized by the Senator for Building, Mobility and Urban Development together with WFB Wirtschaftsförderung Bremen GmbH. The campaign is presented by BIKE IT! Bremen and the ADFC Bremen. The Climate Alliance, a Europe-wide network for municipal climate protection, has launched the campaign to promote cycling and reduce CO₂ emissions.
