From the Geeste to the commercial port.

The importance of Geestemünde as a port town has largely been forgotten today. The tour with Philip Frischkorn brings this history back to life using the existing buildings and port facilities. The starting point is the Geeste, which gave its name to the harbor town founded in 1845/47. From there, the route continues to the former navigation school and Berliner Platz. The route then leads to the commercial port opened in 1863 and the transverse canal. Finally, in Klußmannstraße, the most important public buildings that testify to the importance of the young port town around 1900 are located very close to each other.
