Recomposition of Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 7

"It is rare to experience the urgency and exceptional character of this music first-hand as was the case here," is how the press praised the #freeBruckner experience. The Stegreif Orchester transforms Anton Bruckner's Seventh Symphony into pure goosebumps: In the here and now, moving freely in space, by heart and without a conductor, a performance is created that dissolves the boundaries between performers and audience. The improvising symphony orchestra asks: How would a contemporary Bruckner interpret his symphony on the organ? With classical instruments, supplemented by saxophone, percussion, electric guitar and vocals, the young musicians free Bruckner from all shackles. The focus is on the symphony's moving slow movement: an endless musical song of mourning that could not be more topical given the social experiences of loss of our time. In addition, the Stegreif Orchester invites pupils from the Rhein-Sieg district to workshops and dress rehearsals to experience music and improvisation intensively.
