Stegreif - The Improvising Symphony Orchestra

No conductor and no sheet music - but a large portion of creativity and improvisation: Stegreif - The Improvising Symphony Orchestra questions musical conventions with its concept and surprises again and again with unusual productions. Stegreif is an improvising symphony orchestra of 30 young international musicians who open up new paths to classical music for themselves and the audience. With recompositions of classical works, the orchestra aims to expand the musical heritage through contemporary trends.

The musicians always play without a conductor, sheet music or chairs and use the resulting freedom for improvisation and movement. Musical spontaneity and performative intensity offer the audience a new, approachable concert experience. The orchestra freely shapes the space. Everything becomes a stage.
