Stella - A Play for Lovers

Stella is not happy. Consumed by lovesickness, she hopes Fernando will return. Cäcilie, too, was once abandoned. In their shared grief for the lost object, neither of them realize that they are mourning one and the same person. The premiere caused a theatrical scandal in 1776, as the three lovers end up in a love triangle. "One apartment, one bed, and one grave." - Goethe's play as a plea for queer relationships? Lucia Wunsch transposes "Stella" into a sea of flowers in which (love) dreams and reality blur lucidly together: "Am I awake or am I dreaming?" What injuries do we inflict on each other in love? And is it possible to see a loved one as they really are?
