Goethe Museum/ Anton and Katharina Kippenberg Foundation

Goethe was here! One of the three major Goethe archive and research sites is located in Düsseldorf's Hofgarten. The treasures of the Literature Museum in the rococo Jägerhof Palace include original manuscripts, paintings, landscape drawings, busts and porcelain.

The collection of around 50,000 objects is based on the private collection on Goethe and his time built up by the publisher Anton Kippenberg (1874-1950).

In a "fashion section", you can browse through pictures from the journal of luxury and fashion, come across "Pantheon hoods" and "Minerva helmets" and find out whether beehive hats were once in fashion.

Silhouettes are the new black!

We have recreated a few hats and hoods from the fashion journal for your silhouette photos.

Brooches are back!

In the museum garden, you can still create accessories to pin on!
