On the 500th birthday of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina Music by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Tomás Luis de Victoria, Orlando di Lasso and others.

Surrounded by frescoes by great masters, the works of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina once resounded in the Sistine Chapel. Half a millennium after the birth of the composer, whose eventful life was closely interwoven with the Vatican, the British vocal ensemble Stile Antico dedicates itself to this musical cosmos. In addition to well-known motets by Palestrina, the ensemble will also explore works by other composers who were influenced by him in their Dortmund debut. Since 2001, Stile Antico has firmly established itself on the international music scene. The singers have received numerous awards and three Grammy nominations for their projects, which make the music of the Renaissance and early Baroque accessible to a contemporary audience. Now the ensemble invites Dortmund audiences to the Marienkirche to rediscover this musical world.
