Silent turbulence: Painting and sculpture in dialog
Claudia Lüdemann & Reiner Madena
Exhibition opening: Thursday, May 22 - 6:30 pm
Claudia Lüdemann and Reiner Madena merge figuration and abstraction into an interesting interplay in different forms of art, and their works are also thematically in harmony. Claudia Lüdemann's paintings invite us to explore both concrete and imaginary landscapes that move between recognition and premonition. Her abstract landscapes unfold in an exciting interplay of dynamism and stillness. It is not about the depiction of real landscapes, but about the visualization of imaginary and emotional worlds.
The interplay of dynamism and stillness is also a central theme in Madena's work. In his sculptures, Klabautermänner come to life, fish jump out of the water, ships sail around islands and, if you listen carefully, you can hear the sound of the sea in the wave sculptures, breathe in the calm of infinity and feel the dynamics of nature. As a former captain, the sea is a recurring theme for him. From May 22 to August 17, the works can be seen in the gallery of the Chamber of Employees in Bremerhaven.
