Miles King & The Foolish Knights make it clear that old school soul and funk are timeless: when this young soul formation takes to the stage, ecstasy and passion take center stage, accompanied by sweat and raw sound. Miles' unmistakable voice leaves no doubt that soul is not just sung, but lived and breathed.
The highs and lows of love are brought to life when Miles King & The Foolish Knights perform funky uptempo beats and grooves à la Motown and Stax. The sounds of trumpets and saxophones permeate the air, interwoven with a touch of the 60s and 70s. Miles King & The Foolish Knights awaken the audience on their expedition into the magnetic world of soul - into the world between the sounds of Otis Redding, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin and Al Green.
The current single "A Good Day b/w Hurt So Bad" is currently available as 45s alongside sales from the trunk in selected stores. The band's sound is "raw" and "gritty" - using old 60s microphones and an 8-track tape recorder to conjure up an unmistakable retro-soul sound. The first tracks of the "TAPES EP" were created in collaboration with Mocambo Records and will be released on the young label Soulport Records.
