Getting married? Nowadays? Well, if at all, then only for love! In Jane Austen's cult novel, it is the Bennet family who are looking for a few good matches (young, rich, single) for their five unmarried daughters. Here, however, this is less a question of sentiment than one of existence: because without a husband, there is no male offspring - and without that, no heir. It's a good thing that things finally get going when Mr. Bingley (mother-in-law type) moves in close to the family with his friend Mr. Darcy in tow. The nosy neighbors are also thrilled: there's plenty to talk about!
But before the sisters Elizabeth, Jane and co can celebrate their romantic happy ending, a few balls have to be danced, maternal nervous crises thwarted, prejudices reconsidered and pride tamed.
