TEUFELSKÜCHE - The tour with band
A shortage of skilled workers wherever you look. Now - and nobody could have expected it these days - Hell has been hit too. Despite working at full capacity, the head chef has disappeared. However: "The light is still on in the devil's kitchen". This is the name of the opening song on Stoppok's new studio album "Teufelsküche" (Glitterhouse). Olli Schulz, Cäthe, Alin Coen, Hannes Ringlstetter and Fortuna Ehrenfeld close a convincing circle of friends with their guest appearances.
The album "Teufelsküche" (6th place in the album charts) is also a targeted response to the omnipresent epidemic of digital make-up. What counts is honesty - right down to the cover photo of legend Jim Rakete. For the recordings with his long-term partners Reggie Worthy (b) and Sebel (keys) as well as various guest drummers, Stoppok opted for analog technology with tape machines. Against "technical gluttony" is the motto, songs - recorded "for the moment". Spot landings out of conviction. Out of the digital of tears! No tinkering around! Retro is the future!
And it works perfectly. "The best thing," says Stoppok, "is to create the live energy and dynamics of a band in the studio. That's a power that needs to be preserved. The unifying aspect of music, which can only be achieved through directness, is simply missing at the moment". He values "full risk" and spontaneity, on stage as an entertainer in a class of his own, but also in the studio.
The road to hell (and to skilled workers) is paved with good intentions, as we all know. Or with good songs.
