Together with the DRUGLAND Ensemble, Producing Sibylle & Team create an immersive and rebellious relaxed performance using the "Aesthetics of Access "* method.
During the 120-minute performance, the audience will move around the outdoor area of the Orangerie Theater. Rainproof shoes and clothing are recommended.
"The change of circumstances is a change of worlds.
A change from OUTSIDE to INSIDE is no longer the path between two rooms.
The fact that looking away often equates the INSIDE with the TOP and the OUTSIDE with the BOTTOM seems to be a defense strategy. But it is a strategy that isolates people.'' (R. S Sanatanas)
There are many good reasons to disturb
The conditions of people living in housing and homelessness are becoming increasingly precarious. The numbers are rising - even though the city of Cologne has pledged to end this by 2030. So there are good reasons to be disruptive, right?
The DRUGLAND Theater ensemble is reoccupying the space in the so-called DRAUSSEN. It tells of social utopias, of quiet and loud uprisings, of being outside as a protest and of the many invisible people.
It tells of its own experiences with resistance, of being in the way - as a homeless person. Of consumption as an exit and the courage to take up space.
And above all: thinking of shared spaces as such: in solidarity.
The production sees itself as an immersive invitation to engage with questions such as:
Who is actually disturbing whom and in what way? Who can protest and who is "heard"? Who abstains from the discourse, who will abstain? And is resistance basically a privilege that people must be able to afford?
Duration: approx. 120 minutes
Further performances: May 3.5 + 4.5.
Accessibility & barrier-free access
You can expect a diverse, musical, immersive evening that you can become a part of if you like. The production uses artistically integrated audio description. An audio introduction is also integrated.
The performance takes place at various locations in the Orangerie Theater. You will move both indoors and outdoors. We therefore recommend rainproof shoes and clothing.
Walking time during the 2-hour performance: 3 times approx. 200 meters
All stations are accessible with a wheelchair and for people with a walking disability. A barrier-free toilet is located in the foyer. Seating is available at all stations.
