Robert MacCall tells stories from Scotland both ancient and modern in easy Scottish English.

Rika Tjakea (alto) and Martin Hinrichs (lute) will play Scottish lute songs from the 17th and 18th centuries, sung in English (with a Scottish accent) and moderated in German.

Robert MacCall, whose name reveals his Scottish ancestry, will complement Rika & Martin's beautiful Scottish songs and music with folk tales, poems and stories from his travels in the Highlands and Islands. All in easy to understand English with a Scottish accent. This evening promises to be a veritable treasure trove of words from the land of whisky, kilts and bagpipes.

Rika Tjakea and Martin Hinrichs go to work with verve, skill and infectious freshness and present a varied program of old music, Rika Tjakea with humorous moderation and a "clear, modulated, intonation-safe and expressive alto voice" (LZ), Martin Hinrichs as an excellent lutenist and sensitive accompanist, who also provides entertaining cultural-historical insights.
