Street food picnic - on one of the largest slag heaps in the Ruhr region!

From July 11 to 13, the Tetraeder spoil tip in Bottrop will be transformed into a paradise for gourmets and nature lovers.

The street food picnic combines culinary delights with breathtaking scenery and puts the spotlight on the unique surroundings of the Ruhr region. The impressive slag heap of the former Prosper colliery on Beckstraße is one of the region's most important landmarks. The street food picnic is an experience for families, young adults, tourists or real food enthusiasts!

Look forward to 20 hand-picked street food trucks offering a delicious variety of food and drinks - from hearty classics to extraordinary taste experiences. There will also be refreshing craft beers, exquisite wines and much more! The Street Food Picnic will take place from July 11 to 13, 2025 - from Friday to Sunday, under the Tetraeder. The Tetraeder slag heap is most recognizable by its imposing landmark: the almost 60-metre-high tetrahedron at the top. Its striking steel structure is enthroned on four pillars above the ground and creates the fascinating illusion from a distance that it is floating.

The little ones are also well catered for: there are entertaining activities to try out on site. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with the finest electronic music from live DJs providing the musical backdrop to the picnic. A breathtaking sunset is the perfect highlight.
