A healthy body in a healthy mind: Based on the mass sports and naturalism movement of the 1920s, WEGE ZU KRAFT UND SCHÖNHEIT propagates the reappropriation of a physical ideal based on the model of antiquity. Care, gymnastics, sport and dance are celebrated on film when the naked or barely clothed human body is shown in stylized documentary scenes. This socially and historically significant classic of Ufa cultural film also foreshadows the National Socialist cult of the body - Leni Riefenstahl appears as an extra in a dance group.
For years, the film was only available in censored form; we are showing the scientifically reconstructed, digitally restored version.
