In May 2025, it will be 80 years since the Second World War ended in Europe and therefore also in Munich. It marked the end of the National Socialists' reign of terror. The widespread devastation that their racially motivated war of extermination had caused on the continent and in many people's minds remained.
As part of the cultural program Stunde Null? of the City of Munich, we are once again showing the documentary Ruinenschleicher & Schachterleis from the year 2023. More than 60 hours of interview material were used to create a one-hour documentary that impressively reflects the attitude to life of the children and young people of that time - in a city lying in ruins.
Following the film, Peter Wagner (Truderinger Kulturkreis) and Michael von Ferrari (München-Zeitreisen) invite you to a discussion with contemporary witnesses who all experienced the liberation of Munich and Bavaria by the American troops.
A picture show with historical photos from Trudering and the surrounding area from the 1940s and 1950s will begin at 6:30 pm. The evening will be complemented by the exhibition "The Power of Women", organized by OMAS GEGEN RECHTS München.
