More poetry in unpoetic times! Whether consolation, transformation or condensed encounters: no start to the fall season without a poem. The Writers' House, the City Library and the House of Literature invite you to the Stuttgart Poetry Night and invite three poets to take to the stage and talk, with musical accompaniment from the Stuttgart band Die Konsequenz.

19:00 - 19:40 The City Library presents Manon Hopf:

Her poems revolve around rapprochement and distance and the exploration of constant transformation. In her latest volume "hier steht dein mensch. Verwandlungen" (2024), she explores our limitations and boundaries.

19:40 - 20:20 The Literaturhaus looks to the sky with Nadja Küchenmeister, a "sky that doesn't draw a thread of cloud". "Der große Wagen" is the title of Nadja Küchenmeister's new volume of poetry; a long poem that seeks its beginning in the constellation and from there plumbs the depths of human experience: "die tarsen der fliege / melden bodenkontakt".

Break

20:40 - 21:20 The writers' house bows to the King of Rock'n Roll with the poet and painter Doris Vogel. "This book belongs to the King 2.0" analyzes Elvis Presley in detail and yet leaves him an eternal mystery. In conversation with Moritz Heger, Vogel presents her book of poems about a timeless fascination of pop culture. Beforehand, members of the Young Writers' House will perform a spoken production of their own texts.

21:30 - 22:15 In their album "Innenstadtrandlage", the four-piece Stuttgart band Die Konsequenzdevote themselves musically to the "dusty city", the edge around the center and the rising walls of the city center - a sociotope for which the band finds lyrics and sound with a fine gift for observation.
