Superwomen

In the organizer's words:

A project by Jorinde Dröse, Claude De Demo & the RambaZamba ensemble
Directed by: Jorinde Dröse

As society largely excludes the gender of people with disabilities, it is difficult for women with disabilities to be perceived in their gender role. They learn early on that they will not be "real women", that they are not beautiful and not desirable and that the role of partner and mother is out of the question for them. They are also expected to perform better in terms of self-care and financial independence.

As part of the theatrical research project Superwomen, we ask four actresses from the RambaZamba Theater: What is your relationship to equality, partnership and sexual identity? What is beauty? We will question attributions and role models, show that all women are superwomen and celebrate diversity on the RambaZamba stage.

In her work, director Jorinde Dröse deals with the topics of motherhood, care work, discrimination and equal rights for women. Her focus is on empowering marginalized groups and making social structures visible. With her last works Die Wut, die bleibt at the Salzburg Festival and #motherfuckinghood at the Berliner Ensemble, she appealed to a broad audience and proved that there is a broad response to these topics in the theater. She has had a working relationship with the RambaZamba Theater and the inclusive ensemble since her production of Billy Backe 2023.
