Welcome to the now! How Nazi crimes and anti-LGBTQI* politics are connected.

If you want to understand the present, you need to know the past. That is the leitmotif of Trauer und Turnschuh. In this live podcast episode at the Superzart Festival in Hamburg, Hadija and Max talk about the lost biographies of queer people during the Nazi era. What was forgotten and suppressed and what does that do to us? Because the history of violence and resistance has a lot to do with the present. The current and almost worldwide turn towards authoritarian policies is linked to an anti-identitarian, anti-woke and anti-LGBTQI* agenda. We therefore talk to journalist and expert on lesbian persecution and movement history Stephanie Kuhnen about queer lives, their struggles to remember and how we can learn from them for our present.

Hadija Haruna-Oelker is a moderator, panel speaker and author. Among other things, she deals with racism, migration and flight.
