Heinrich Heine - hardly any other German-language poet has been translated into as many languages as he. Emerging from Romanticism, he was both one of its last representatives and its overcomer, incorporating political themes and everyday German language into his works.
Always guided by the spirit of freedom and therefore increasingly harassed in the German Confederation, Heine decided to emigrate to Paris in the second half of his life and turn his back on his native Germany. "Spandau is too far from the sea" is how he described this decision in his own ironic and poetic way. Despite this not entirely voluntary decision, Heine always saw himself as a mediator between his very different neighbors.
The great actress Suzanne von Borsody addresses this and other topics and takes you into a world full of wonderful poetry, jazz and sensuality in this musical reading with her unmistakable voice. She will be accompanied by Kurt Holzkämper on bass and Chris Geisler on piano.
