With the concert series "SWING GEORG", Cologne-based trumpeter Thimo Niesterok celebrates the music of the swing era in changing, top-class line-ups that reflect the lively and young Cologne jazz scene. Trumpeter Thimo Niesterok (*1996) fascinates not only with his extraordinary musicality, but also with his passion and commitment to swing and mainstream jazz.

His warm, nuanced tone and unmistakable phrasing inspire both long-time jazz fans and new and especially young listeners alike. With his love of the jazz tradition, he is not alone among the young musicians in Cologne: with Benedikt Göb (*2002) on piano and Lena Lorberg (*2006) on double bass, both of whom have just become members of the Bundesjazzorchester, you can look forward to two of the outstanding musicians on the young Cologne jazz scene.

The opening act is the great Tijn Trommelen (*1996) from the Netherlands, who has been shaking up the European swing scene as a guitarist and singer for several years and has recently established himself in the Asian jazz world with his own tours.

The band presents classics by Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Oscar Peterson, among others, in their own fresh style.
