This year, New Swing Generation e. V. is transforming Baakenpark into HafenCity's dance floor.

Elbe summer also means dancing in the open air. Swing has been a perennial favorite for years. More precisely: "Lindy Hop", a popular couple's dance to swing music from the 20s to the 50s. Originating in New York, it was danced to the music of Louis Armstrong, Artie Shaw, Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington, among others. The "Swing Dance Summer" always begins with a taster course. Afterwards, Hamburg swing DJs provide the right groove and invite you to linger, watch and, of course, swing and dance along.
