Dance / Performance by Saphir Belkheir

Saphir Belkheir uses a family tree to get to the bottom of his French-Algerian ancestry. He discovers that personalities have been erased from it and comes across a colonial, patriarchal heritage that makes existences on the fringes of the norm invisible. Saphir Belkheir draws strength from a history inhabited by imaginary ancestors and nourished by queer experiences. He was a resident artist at CommonLAB 2023 as part of the Common Stories project .

Sycomore offers an intimate and immersive experience, blending dance, video, sound, and text to evoke connections between past and future.

Le sycomore est un figuier qui reproduit plusieurs nouvelles branches lorsqu'une seule est coupée. Les branches du sycomore qui repoussent deviennent des projections dans le futur pour (re)créer des liens à l'infini.
