Marianne and Johan appear to be an ideal couple - professionally successful, two children, open in their communication with each other. In reality, however, Johan has fallen in love with one of his students and plans to leave Marianne. When he actually leaves, Marianne suddenly feels a new freedom, which she enjoys to the full.
