The music of T. Gowdy represents a crossover between different traditions of polyphony, in particular the 12th century Notre Dame school and the early Baroque of the 17th century. The two types of language have opposing ontologies, reflecting notions of domination and order on the one hand, and a liberated interplay between selected pitch units on the other. // Berlin-based musician Alexandra Grübler is interested in the alchemical qualities and speculative spaces of autonomy in sound, intonation and rhythm. With the solo project Baal & Mortimer, her artistic practice employs a dialogical interaction of instruments such as psaltery and bagpipes, electronics, acoustic artefacts and poetics.
