Commemoration, poetry and concert

May 8 marks the 80th anniversary of the unconditional surrender of the German Wehrmacht and thus the end of the Second World War and the liberation from National Socialism in 1945. National Socialist terror, war of extermination and millions of murders must never be forgotten!
We commemorate the day and come together to celebrate diversity and solidarity, because: Never again is now!

18:00 - 18:30 : Flingern remembers - meeting point at the FlingerPfad stele in front of the zakk

As part of a short memorial event, the names of 50 forced laborers will be read out to commemorate the 1140 prisoners of the "Otto" forced labor camp, which existed here on the former Klöckner Werke site during the Nazi era.

Afterwards, we will go to the pub together to end the day in a dignified but also lively atmosphere with event-related poetry by Meral Ziegler and music by singer-songwriter zooey and singer LEONORA. The evening will be hosted by Kristin Schwierz, Managing Director of zakk.

With this evening, we want to create space for remembrance, exchange and solidarity - against forgetting and for an open, remembering society. National Socialist terror, the war of extermination and millions of murders must never be forgotten.
