In the organizer's words:

Would you like to get to know and experience how Dortmund can remain green and diverse? Then you are cordially invited! The Environmental Agency, the Parks Department and the Dortmund cemeteries are organizing the "Biodiversity Day".

An exciting and colorful program awaits you at the festival for more nature conservation and biodiversity - also for families!

Why is biodiversity so important?

• Biodiversity is the basis of our existence.
• It is the basis for healthy ecosystems that provide us with food, water and air.
• For several decades, however, more and more animal and plant species have been disappearing, both globally and locally. Genetic diversity is also decreasing.
• Important habitats are being lost - in Dortmund and worldwide.

The man-made loss of our biodiversity is one of the biggest problems facing our planet! It challenges us all.

What can be done about it?

More than 30 initiatives, associations and municipal departments will be demonstrating this at information stands, hands-on stations, talks and guided tours on the grounds of the Naturmuseum. You and we are part of the plan!
