WirrWarr and the Pelmke Cultural Center invite you to get to know the street cultures in Hagen-Wehringhausen with acts from hip-hop, rap, graffiti and skate. In addition to live musical performances, we can look forward to exhibitions and video installations. A tribute to the community of subcultures!

In June, WirrWarr organizes a day dedicated to street cultures with a diverse programme that brings together different scenes, such as skate and hip hop, with local artists. In addition to experienced names from the scene, young and old also come together here! The Pelmke Cultural Center launched a series of workshops in May. From rap to poetry slam to hip hop and from graffiti to screen printing, young people were given an insight into the diversity of subcultures and their arts. The event in June offers a stage for the results of the young people from the Pelmke workshops. WirrWarr also organizes exhibitions and live performances in cooperation with local artists. Finally, there will be an after-party with a DJ set in the Pelmke.

Exhibitions

On Saturday, exhibitions start at 3 pm on the corner of Lange Str./Mauerstr. in Hagen-Wehringhausen. On the one hand at WirrWarr, Lange Straße 22, 58089 Hagen, with the results of the Flow & Fusion graffiti workshop led by the Krehativ.collective. At the same time and just around the corner, skater and photographer Dennis Harwardt will be showing us 100 photographs and a video installation documenting the skater scene in Hagen and NRW. For the "Concrete Ballroom" concept, the artist is transforming a vacant space at Lange Str. 22 (former kiosk) into an exhibition space.

Workshop

Dortmund legend, rapper and DJ Wolf will be with us at WirrWarr from 5 p.m. to offer a first insight into his DJ workshop for beginners, which he will be leading the following day as part of the Flow & Fusion offers at the Kulturzentrum Pelmke. Come and have a sniff!

Show & after-party

From 8 p.m., the party continues at the Kulturzentrum Pelmke. Here, WirrWarr is organizing a performance by the local hip-hop/rap scene from Wehringhausen and instrumentalists from NRW, from bass to flute, in collaboration with musical director Dennis Awad. Admission to the show is at 8 pm and we can look forward to a 2-hour set with profound lyrics and groovy sounds. Afterwards the Pelmke invites you to the Flow & Fusion Afterparty with DJ Sostanza!

No entrance fee! All events are free of charge.
