Day of the garden in the national federation - with opening audio walk

"Herbs, climate, allotment gardens" is the motto of the "Day of the Garden" on Sunday, May 25th. The umbrella organization of Bremen's allotment garden associations, the Landesverband der Gartenfreunde, is once again organizing the event in Bremen-Horn. At 11 a.m., the chairman of the association will not only open the Day of the Garden, but also the new audio walk through its ecological educational garden. Free guided tours past bees, pear trees and garden beds will follow from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm. This will be complemented from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. by plants for the garden, balcony and kitchen in organic quality and hands-on activities for children: they can take part in a herb quiz, make herb salt and sow herbs. In addition to food and drinks, beautiful and useful items for the garden can be purchased from the arts and crafts sector. Information on climate protection, urban greenery and environmental education will be available at the Bremen Environmental Advisory Service stand, for example. The lunchtime talk on "Climate and allotment gardens" at 1 p.m. will feature Bremen's Member of Parliament Kirsten Kappert-Gonther, the Bremen Environmental Advisory Service and Ulf Jacob from the Center for Environmental Communication.
