Slow Club Freiburg presents:
TAMARA QADDOUMI + SHOEMALE67
TAMARA QADDOUMI
Tamara Qaddoumi's path as a singer and songwriter has taken many twists and turns. Born in Kuwait of Palestinian, Lebanese and Scottish descent, the artist initially studied theater and acting, a background that remains a defining feature of her multi-faceted approach to her art and the visual accompaniment to her releases.
Her debut EP "Dust Bathing" (2018), while staying within the boundaries of traditional pop, captivated with melodic lyrical passages and opulent harmonies in search of a distinctive identity. In 2020, Qaddoumi began collaborating with Antonio Hajj, who has been her musical compass and the architect of her unique sound ever since - an alchemy of lush electronic soundscapes, a haunting touch of trip-hop and dream-pop, and her unmistakably beguiling voice.
She continued her studio work with two more EPs: Soft Glitch (2021) and Sorry Signal (2024), further cementing her talent for creating captivating and passionate music.
On her upcoming debut album "The Murmur", Qaddoumi shows herself as an artist who has grown up and is challenging herself to redefine the boundaries of her musical comfort zone; a zone that is constantly changing and growing. As a songwriter who has explored profound existential themes such as grief and death, Qaddoumi has matured into a skillful traveler through the dark corridors of the human condition, but also through the beauty that lies beneath, and the tender hope that it is indeed within our reach.

SHOEMALE67
When Mathieu (guitar) and Bruno (keyboards/machines) collaborated on a sound performance, it quickly became clear that something special was in the making. With Luiça as the charismatic singer, Shoemale67 was formed - a band that combines dark sounds and driving rhythms and moves between darkwave and cinematic atmospheres. Shoemale67 creates a haunting musical universe reminiscent of DAF, The Soft Moon and Lebanon Hanover - unmistakable and captivating.
