The fascination of crime: it makes the headlines and captivates crime readers and viewers of reality TV series with a mixture of fascination and revulsion. All the more so when the crimes take place where you wouldn't expect them: in familiar surroundings. The home crime genre has experienced a boom in recent decades.
But the world of crime fiction rarely reflects reality. What is the real state of crime in our border region? And how have crime and jurisdiction changed over the last few centuries? Criminal offenses such as heresy and harmful magic have long since ceased to be the subject of trials. The police and judiciary deal with cyber fraud, drug trafficking, domestic violence, organized crime and many other very different criminal offences.
The exhibition Tatort Heimat! True Crime from the region uses numerous exhibits and exciting audio files to provide information about the major challenges in the field of crime that the police, the justice system and the media are faced with on a daily basis.
