Guta has withdrawn into her own world. Her monotonous everyday life - work, coming home, listening to music, watching television - is disrupted by two events: the television set gives up the ghost and she receives a letter from her old friend Maribel. She disappeared from her life seven years ago. Now that Guta can no longer follow other people's adventures in telenovelas, the letter confronts her with her past and reveals the dark side of her friendship with her glamorous friend: her realization of Maribel's power games and her own emotional dependence on her, as well as the betrayal of their former allies in their friendship, becomes the source of a series of gruesomely funny disasters.
