In her latest film, filmmaker and daughter Kristina Konrad accompanies her mother as she grows old. Initially with words - in a conversation about the role of women or in the family narrative of a birthday speech - and increasingly in deliberately silent observations - when cleaning a sausage slicer or the increasingly laborious hand movements that become the handholds of everyday life slowly disappearing. Patient looking and listening, a feeling for moments in which something appears, an empathetic and committed closeness - what characterizes the attitude and method of Konrad's films finds a cinematic concentration in this encounter between mother and daughter that makes something of the essence of passing existence palpable. A consistent and sensitive work of old age in both theme and form.
