That's roughly how you could try to sum up a Tequila & the Sunrise Gang concert. Wild, uninhibited and often unpredictable.

Punk + Rock + Brass, with brains and attitude. These are the trademarks of the seven musicians from Kiel and they will be demonstrating them again in 2024 along with their enormous live quality.

After an almost completely sold-out club tour in 2023, the next headlining tour with a total of 14 concerts across Germany is on the program after a packed festival summer.

Special guest: Drens

Formed as a wild surf punk foursome in Dortmund, Europe's moustache capital towards the end of 2017 through a shared love of halloumi and lo-fi melodies, Drens have thrown their debut EP "Pet Peeves" into the midst of isolation and springtime urges.

The following scenario: a city in technicolor, aquamarine skies, green lawns with flamingos stalking. The sound of waves, laughter wafting from afar, beach scenes. But the longer you stare at this scenario, the more blinding the sun becomes, the shriller the laughter becomes. It could all be so beautiful, but a small, evil cloud obscures the view, a stone is stuck in your shoe.

But beware, spoiler alert - Drens achieve a rare balancing act with their songs: their eye for the crappiness of things is awake and sharpened and yet they are not blind to all that is beautiful and good. And so the songs are not just questions, but also answers to previous problems, a pat on the back, an encouraging nod and two beers at the bar.

The surf sound that crystallized on the DIY sing-along compilation "Sunny Side Up" is further elaborated, and the producer probably plays a certain part in this: Steffen Israel, guitarist with Kraftklub, celebrates his producer debut here and transports the band's fuzzy retro sound into 2021. In the end, Drens stride hopefully into the glistening sun. This warmth and

attention to detail gives the lyrics a bitter-sweet lightness, Joy Divison in Hawaiian shirts, surfing off a burning coast. The shimmering live energy is poured into form here, transforming dreary suburbs into Southern Californian teenage utopias. Isn't that the best move for this new decade?
