Love makes everyone equal, doesn't it?"

Ankara. A hotel room. Two men whose lives couldn't be more different. Halit, a rich businessman, and Yusuf, a sex worker from a precarious social background. For Yusuf, the encounter begins as a familiar job, for Halit as his first experience with his sexuality. In various nights together, they test out the possibilities of an encounter. Under the protection of the hotel room walls, utopian spaces of thought emerge, which are repeatedly shaken by an irrefutable reality. They are faced with the question: does love make everyone equal or do social background and social demands on all forms of masculinity form the boundaries of a real rapprochement?

Discussion round 26.10.

After the performance on 26.10. there will be a panel discussion with special guests dedicated to the topics of queerness, migration, activism, art and sex work. The discussion will be in English.

Hassandra (they/them)
Hassandra is a Beirut-born interdisciplinary performer, drag artist, DJ, and event organizer based in Berlin. Her work, inspired by ancient theater and mythology, explores themes of queerness, identity, and diaspora. As a founding member of Critical Queer Solidarity and ADIRA Party, they use performance as a tool for activism and community building. Through their work in theater, film, and performance art, Hassandra brings visibility to queer Arab identities while challenging norms in the arts and cultural spaces.

Hyle (she/her)
Hyle is a curator, artist, and cultural activist, deeply embedded in Berlin's queer and feminist art scene. As a member of the Trans* Sexworks collective, her work focuses on the intersection of identity, art, and social justice. She co-founded Blade Music Festival and is a member of the Lunchbox Candy family. Through her curatorial practice, she aims to dismantle dominant narratives and create healing spaces that reflect marginalized voices, advocating for inclusive and transformative cultural production.

Adalet Müzeyyen (she/her)
Adalet Müzeyyen is an outspoken Kurdish-Alevi trans woman of color, whose art and activism focus on themes of racism, sexism, and the intersectionality of queerphobia and ethnic discrimination. She uses her platform to raise awareness about the struggles of Kurdish-Alevi people and advocates for marginalized identities in both her stage performances and activist work. Adalet combines her personal experiences with broader societal critiques, pushing for a more inclusive and equitable cultural discourse.
