When the narrator of the "Harz Journey" sets off on his hike, he temporarily leaves the "gray, precocious" Göttingen and his unloved law studies behind him. On his journey, he finds relaxation in the seemingly enchanted nature, descends deep underground, amuses himself in conversations with other hikers and locals and finally reaches the "old, world-famous Brocken".

Join Heinrich Heine on a journey to the famous low mountain range with its forests and river-crossed valleys over a French breakfast. Original text passages will be accompanied by jazz standards on the piano.
