"Textile Erinnerungen – gemeinsam gestalten" mit der Künstlerin Varvara Keidan Shavrova

In the gallery exhibition Textile Memories, Varvara Keidan Shavrova is showing a series of felt blankets printed with memories from her family album. Three textiles from the Documentation Center's collection are added to this installation. The entire ensemble stands for the deeply human desire to connect with something warm, familiar and familiar and to counteract the painful feeling of loss of home, loneliness and uprootedness.

In the workshop, creative techniques such as drawing, cutting, sewing and embroidery are used to create works of art from personal memories. You are welcome to bring along a private photo or a textile object and tell your own story - possibly in connection with flight, expulsion, emigration and life in an initially foreign place.

What you create in the workshop can then be integrated into the gallery exhibition.
