Christian Wolff (Ben Affleck) has a talent for solving complicated problems. When an old companion is murdered and leaves behind a cryptic message telling him to "find the accountant", Wolff is forced to take on the case.

Christian Wolff is a numbers genius and, disguised as a tax consultant, does the bookkeeping for the world's most dangerous criminal organizations. But then tax investigator Ray King finds out and the highly talented man has to take on a legal assignment. Together with accountant Dana, he is supposed to get to the bottom of financial discrepancies involving millions of euros at a robotics company. But during the investigation, several mysterious deaths occur in Chris' entourage...
