Karl Jenkins "The Armed Man: A Mass For Peace"

better-is-peace project choir (PL, D), an international youth choir project to commemorate 80 years since the end of World War II

Together we want to set an example for peace in this world and at the same time have an unforgettable time of musical fellowship. In one week we will rehearse the work The Armed Man: A Mass For Peace by Karl Jenkins and perform it in 4 concerts. "Better is peace than always war." is a quote from this modern oratorio. But we are currently seeing how difficult it is to find ways to achieve peace in so many places around the world. Our ability to change the cruel wars in Ukraine, the Middle East and around the world is very limited. But we can experience peace in community, talk about peace in music and call for it. We also want to remember how the Second World War came to an end in Germany 80 years ago, especially here in our region of Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia.
