The Big Band Messengers - Jazz

The Big Band Messengers is a young big band from the Leipzig music scene, which was founded in 2022 and is organized by music students at HMT Leipzig. With a flair for detail, a sense of tradition and endless joy in playing, they show that big band music is more alive than ever before.
The band's versatility is reflected in the breadth of their program. In addition to pieces by the Thad Jones / Mel Lewis Orchestra and the Count Basie Big Band, the program extends to contemporary compositions - including those by Pat Metheny, Ed Partyka and from the band's own ranks. The band regularly plays concerts in Leipzig and has delighted audiences throughout Saxony in the past.
