Presented by the art and culture initiative Thomas Besenbeck:

The Cologne duo the bottomline creates a world of sound that is reminiscent of the vastness of the universe and yet conveys a tangible familiarity. Their music courageously confronts the pressing questions of our time, critically examines geopolitical world events and forms of expression of power and addresses the longing for humanity and solidarity.

The emotional to effervescently lively piano playing, the bluesy powerful timbre of the vocals and the polyrhythmic figures of the filigree drumming are repeatedly enveloped by spherical synthesizer carpets. With their unique mix of jazz, classical and trip-hop, the bottomline push the boundaries of traditional genres and present a sound full of cinematic punchlines. Music journalists describe them as "a congenial, musically and technically highly talented duo" (KStA), "highly topical" (NDR Kultur Neo) and "fascinating" (Jazzthing & Blue Rhythm).

The Thomas Besenbeck art and culture initiative has set itself the goal of actively promoting art and culture in Neuendetelsau and bringing new impetus to the region. Concerts, exhibitions and creative projects are intended to create a space for encounters, exchange and artistic inspiration.

The initiative will be supported by the Alliance for Democracy and Cohesion Neuendettelsau at the concert on July 11, 2025 in St. Nikolai Church. The alliance is committed to the cohesion of democratic citizens, promotes the appreciation of our democracy and stands for the inviolability of human dignity and human rights.

With this concert, we are jointly setting an example for an open, vibrant and diverse cultural landscape Art as a unifying element that brings people together and strengthens social dialog.
