Opera is life! The international Berlin vocal ensemble THE CAST is firmly convinced of this and always shows in its concerts that opera is far more than "just" art - it was and is a mirror of our lives, full of emotion, drama and passion.

In "VIVA! 400 years of opera in 90 minutes", the young vocal artists invite their audience on a fast-paced and entertaining tour through the eventful history of opera and show how much joie de vivre and beauty there is in this music, from the early masterpieces to the great modern classics.

THE CAST dusts off the genre and interprets Handel, Mozart, Donizetti, Puccini, Verdi & Co. in a refreshingly contemporary, always humorous and vocally at the highest level. With THE CAST, the great arias, duets and choral movements become what they once were: great hits!

With cabaret humor, charm and a good dose of playfulness, the passionate singers combine their skills and passion for classical singing with the energy of a pop concert and prove how relaxed, fresh and absolutely captivating opera can be. In the Chinese concert pianist Yu Chen, they have a congenial and sensitive partner at their side who effortlessly replaces an entire orchestra.

The audience, whether opera connoisseurs or beginners, can look forward to a rousing evening that catapults opera into our lives today. And all without a stressful dress code and in sweaters, jeans and sneakers!
