THE DEVIL AND THE ALMIGHTY BLUES - Spring Tour 2025

In the organizer's words:

THE DEVIL AND THE ALMIGHTY BLUES

With a deep love for the old heroes of the blues that go hand in hand with rock, metal, country and not least punk, THE DEVIL AND THE ALMIGHTY BLUES is armed with old Gibson guitars and tube amps. Their new take on blues rock is heavy without being metallic, slow without being doomy, bluesy without being boring. It's slow, heavy, melodic and raw. Far from being a potential hit on the radio, but then again - who cares?

As the 60s turned into the 70s, there was a musical crossroads. American blues had had its run with teenagers on both sides of the Atlantic long enough that the blues offshoot called rock'n'roll had to expand or die. It didn't die, it expanded in all sorts of directions! And right there, at the crossroads between blues-based rock and all the other rock sub-genres in the world, something happened to the blues. There was experimentation with the format, it was expanded and made almost unrecognizable. But at the same time, the roots of the original "real" blues were never lost.

Where Peter Green left "Fleetwood Mac" in 1970 with the track "Green Manalishi ", where Johnny Winter stretched his musical legs, where "ZZ Top" bought full Marshall stacks and shot from the hip, and last but not least, where the legend himself, Muddy Waters, explored the boundaries of the "legal" with the album "Electric Mud". And let's not forget Hendrix, "Free", "Canned Heat" and the rest of the gang from the Woodstock era. The result was a highly electric musical revolution in which, for example, the newly emerging genre of hard rock went hand in hand with traditional Delta blues.

It is from this musical mud that THE DEVIL AND THE ALMIGHTY BLUES have found their inspiration. Their music is slow, heavy, melodic and raw, without losing sight of the almighty blues. (Source: Organizer, Translation: Feierwerk e.V.)
