The Frame (UA)
by Finn Lakeberg
Live and without knowing what will happen, three dancers face a challenge: they receive movement instructions from an off-screen voice, combined with the request to implement them directly and immediately. How differently will they interpret them? How much room for personal expression remains when the movement instructions seem clear?
Without any prior knowledge of contemporary dance, The Frame gives viewers a very accessible impression of how choreography can be created, where movements originate and how playfully dance expresses itself. One dancer from the tanzmainz ensemble and two guests will perform. As they will only dance this performance once, it quickly becomes clear what a precious one-off this individual performance is.
