While governments and corporations, caught up in a global race for unlimited growth, secure the cheapest raw materials, three women - Bertha, Carolina and Maxima - tell a story of unwavering courage: how do you continue to fight for the protection of nature when your own life is in danger? When police repression, harassment from companies, injuries or even death threats are part of your everyday life?

The three women featured in "The Illusion of Abundance" show that they are not willing to give up their fight. At the same time, the documentary sheds light on the costs of our prosperity that others have to bear.

The film will be shown as part of an action week organized by SÜWIND Bonn on the topic of "Threatened Civil Society", followed by a discussion with human rights activist Pedro Morazán (Honduras).
