The Kilkennys

The band from Kilkenny, the sunny south-east of Ireland, is popping the corks: In fall 2025, the quintet celebrates its 25th anniversary as a band! For a quarter of a century, The Kilkennys have been bringing a breath of fresh air to the Irish folk scene with great original compositions and reinterpretations of old classics. Joining them on tour for the first time as a permanent band member on accordion, keyboard and the innovative Seaboard: Jason Turk! A special magic can be expected in the interplay of the five friends, which also inspires a young audience for traditional Irish music.

This is not least due to their rousing concerts, which transform every concert hall into an Irish pub in no time at all and get the entire audience singing along - and that includes even the most reserved concert-goer! Each band member is a master of several instruments, including traditional Irish instruments such as the Irish bagpipes Uillean Pipes or the frame drum Bodhran, and brings their skills to bear in a song-oriented manner. Also unforgettable: the absolute trademark of the Kilkennys - the joint harmony singing, which gives everyone in the audience goosebumps.
